Over time, moss, mildew, and mold can build up on the surface of your roof and potentially cause damage to the integrity of your shingles. Moss spores can grow between the crack of your shingles and create spots for water infiltration. By getting your roof cleaned, you can prolong the life of your roof and prevent future headache and substantial cost.
We take great care when revitalizing the roof surface of your home. We typically will use a stiff bristled brush to remove the bulk of the growth. When doing so, we are very careful to not remove preexisting asphalt. Once the majority of the growth is removed we apply an application of moss killer solution to the roof to kill and prevent further organic growth.
The amount of cleaning of the roof surface is dependent on the environmental conditions and the integrity of the roof. Moss and other organic matter, thrive in wet and dark places. We recommend a deep cleaning on an as-needed basis, while a regular maintenance plan to kill new moss spores is highly recommended.
